Week of January 23rd

Today was a busy day in the classroom.  Our letter of the week is the letter "c".  Our word of the week is the word can.  We discovered that our country, Canada has the word can in it.  The sk students were really keen on writing sentences of things that they can do.  We are so impressed with their writing. 
Today the new snuggle books were sent home for the week.  Please encourage your child to find our popcorn words in their book.  Just a reminder to ensure that they come back on Friday.

Family Literacy Week: January 22-29
This week is about the love of reading and serves as a great reminder to snuggle up with your child and read all while fostering a love of books!  Here is a list of activities the school has planned for the week:

Wednesday - Bring Your Favourite Book to School Day

Friday - Dress up as your Favourite Book Character

 We have had many students missing for the past few weeks due to the flu or cold.  We are practicing proper hand-washing techniques as well as coughing into our elbows in order to not spread germs. 

Please pack extra socks and pants in your child's backpack this week.  We have many students who don't have a change of clothes but are getting wet. 

On Wednesday, we will be participating in a soccer workshop in the gym.  It should be lots of fun for the kids!
